Why Sport Court and Nancy Lieberman Charities Keep Building Dream Courts
Since 2010, Sport Court and Nancy Lieberman Charities have partnered to build Dream Courts in communities across the country, giving young people safe, high-quality places to play, connect and grow. The partnership began with the first Dream Court at a Boys & Girls Club in Frisco, Texas. Sixteen years later, the organizations celebrated their 142nd Dream Court at a Boys & Girls Club in Laurel, Delaware—and there are more to come.
But reaching a certain number has never been the reason behind the work.
The kids are.
A Partnership That Started in 2010
When Nancy Lieberman Charities and Sport Court came together in 2010, it was around a simple idea: kids need places where they can play.
Not just any place. A place they can be proud of. A place that feels like it belongs to them and their community. A place where they can show up, be active, meet friends, find mentors and start believing a little more in themselves.
That idea became the first Nancy Lieberman Dream Court in Frisco.
Sixteen years later, it’s still what brings us together.
Why Dream Courts Matter
Nancy Lieberman Charities believes sports can give young people opportunities that reach far beyond the game.
A basketball court can be a place to learn teamwork, discipline and confidence. It can introduce a child to a coach or mentor who makes a lasting difference. And sometimes, it can simply give a kid somewhere positive to go and something to look forward to.
Sport Court believes in that mission, too.
We’ve seen firsthand what happens when communities have spaces that bring people together. Our role in the partnership is to help turn the Dream Court vision into a physical place—a court from Sport Court built to be played on, gathered on and made part of the community.
That shared belief is why this partnership has lasted for more than a decade.

What Is a Nancy Lieberman Dream Court?
Nancy Lieberman Dream Courts are basketball courts created through Nancy Lieberman Charities to provide young people and communities with safe, high-quality places to play. Through its long-standing partnership with Sport Court, the Dream Courts program brings together sport, community and mentorship to create opportunities for kids both on and off the court.

In 2026, the partnership reached another milestone with Dream Court number 142 at a Boys & Girls Club in Laurel, Delaware.
There have now been 142 ribbon cuttings. But what matters more is everything that happens after everyone goes home.
The first game.
The kid who stays late to keep shooting.
The friendships that start there.
The families who come out to watch.
The young person who discovers a sport they love—or confidence they didn’t know they had.
Those are the reasons we keep building Dream Courts.
From the first court in Frisco to number 142 in Laurel, every Dream Court represents another community investing in its kids. And every time a new one opens, we’re reminded there are more communities where an opportunity like this can make a difference.
So 142 is worth celebrating.
But we’re even more excited about what comes next.
One court can change a community. 142—and counting—are changing a generation.
